Our Philosophy
The name Stoa Education is inspired by the ancient Greek stoa—covered walkways that provided safe and protected spaces for learning, discussion, and reflection.
The Stoic school of philosophy, which emphasises reason, discipline, and the pursuit of wisdom, takes its name from these iconic structures.
At Stoa Education, we embrace these values, recognising that education is not just about knowledge acquisition but also about fostering resilience, critical thinking, and personal growth.
Why Stoa Education?
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our approach to teaching. For our Stage 6 students, we ensure they are taught by expert tutors who possess not only extensive knowledge in their respective fields but also a deep understanding of the art of teaching. This ensures that every lesson is not only informative but also engaging and tailored to the needs of each student.
At Stoa Education, we aim to create a safe and inspiring environment where students can thrive academically and develop the skills to navigate the challenges of school and beyond.
At Stoa Education, we offer a wide range of services to support students in reaching their full potential, including but not limited to:

All of our tutors hold a valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and National Police Check ✅
Meet the Founder
Davide Percopo | Founder/Head Tutor
Davide Percopo is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Advanced Science programme at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where he majored in Advanced Physics and Mathematics. He currently works as a Casual Academic in the UNSW School of Physics Teaching Laboratories, where he teaches physics students across a diverse range of fields.

Driven by the philosophy that teaching is an art form, he created Stoa Education to provide students with not just a tutor, but a mentor—someone who listens, learns, and tailors their approach to each student’s unique needs and potential.

"David starting tutoring our son Luca when we felt he needed some extra maths tuition. Following a year at home and school disruptions with covid he was struggling to keep up with some of the syllabus and losing confidence. From the first lesson we saw David making a difference. Luca has engaged with maths and really looks forward to their lessons to cover topics he did not quite understand or capture in class at school. David has a very good natural teaching style - calm and clear which is so important when trying to build knowledge and confidence. Feedback from school has been all positive with a steep line of improvement in his understanding and competence which is really all thanks to David. I really recommend David as a maths tutor and can't thank him enough for how he has helped build up Luca's confidence and capability."
